Lodi Travelogue

I had a great vacation in Wisconsin with my family last weekend. Time off work didn't mean time off of drawing!

This was a wonderful opportunity to try out some new techniques. I did some experimentation with photograph/texture overlays on top of my original watercolor/gouache sketches. What I ended up with was a nice montage of photographs from the trip blended in with observational drawing entries. I will keep up this technique in the future!

More June Draws

Doodling faces. Practicing a lot with my brush. Wedding planning stuff.

I'm kind of all over the place during the summer. I like doing quick studies more than finishing pieces.

Scribbling without Ceasing

Two weeks into summer. Been trying to do a lot of drawing outside of the house.

Here's just some scraps of more summertime experimentation---also, designs for my wedding cake!

Not So Sunny Summer (Drawing in my Basement)

I've been home for a week and drawing every day, I'm proud to say. It's really nice to take a break from school and have the freedom to experiment. No real rhyme or reason to my doodles; I'm just all over the place and its fine with me. Saving my direction for some freelance work that I'm doing on the side.

Architecture Color Studies

It's good to step outside of a comfort zone every now and then. These past weeks were spent studying architecture and exploring color applications--- I like to paint, but buildings are not my forte.
